He has been writing since he was studying at Chittagong University.

Personal life and education

Arif Azad was born on January 7, 1990 in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He completed his schooling in Chittagong Zilla School. After completing his higher secondary education from a government college, he was admitted to the Department of Statistics at Chittagong University and completed his higher education there.

Literary life

Arif Azad started writing while he was in class eleven. However, when his first book Paradoxical Sajid was published at Ekushey Book Fair in 2016, it caused a great stir. Paradoxical Sajid is a series on Islam written by Arif Azad. It is a collection of short stories arranged in response to various questions against the Islamic faith in the commentary of a character named Sajid. In it, the author tries to disprove the anti-Islamic questions through Islamic information, logic, philosophy, science and reality and from there tries to prove the weakness of the opponent's argument. Two books of the series were published in 2017 and 2019. Despite the controversy over the books, the two books made it to the best-selling book fair of the year.[3] Paradoxical Sajid-1 is the first book in the Paradoxical Sajid series. The book was published at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in February 2017. The cover of the book was unveiled on February 09, 2017. The book is published by Guardian Publications. Shortly after its release, the book went on to become a bestseller. The book Paradoxical Sajid-2[4][5] is the second installment of the book "Paradoxical Sajid-1" written by the author and published in 2017 Ekushey Book Fair.[6] The book was published by Samakalin Prakashani on 15 February 2019. It was the best seller at the Ekushey Book Fair in 2019 and the publication of the book was stopped again at the 2019 Book Fair after several government directives.[7][8][9][10][11]
