Sen was born and raised in Kolkata, India. He completed his early education at St. Lawrence High School in 1982. He earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in 1986, followed by a Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Brigham Young University in 1990.[4]
Career
Sen began his career in marketing and operations at companies including Pizza Hut, Boston Market, Jillian's, and Tata Steel.[5] He was a founding member of Einstein Bros. Bagels and later served as Vice President of Marketing and Operations at Papa John's International.[6]

Cancer diagnosis and recovery
In 2010, Sen was diagnosed with laryngeal cancer and was given approximately 100 days to live.[8] A pivotal moment came when his young daughter asked if he would attend her wedding, motivating him to pursue aggressive treatment.[9] Sen underwent over 21 surgeries and has since lived well beyond his initial prognosis.[10]
