Arnaud Ventura is a french entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Baobab Group (formerly Microcred[3] )

Early life and education[edit]
Still a Computer Science student in early 90s, Arnaud Ventura had the opportunity to participate in the creation of two leading Internet providers in France (Club Internet) and Thaïland (Internet Thaïland). He subsequently joined BNP Paribas in Latin America and had the opportunity to support the Business Development of the bank in Argentina. In 1997, thanks to his exposure to emerging market in Asia and Latin America early on, Arnaud deciced to get involved in social impact business. He developed the idea of leveraging technology and internet to support social business and ended up co-founding Positive Planet[4] formerly PlaNet Finance
Carreer[edit]
As a young internet entrepreneur, Arnaud Ventura proposed the idea of setting up an international organization using internet to develop microfinance. In December 1997, Arnaud Ventura met with Jacques Attali who had developed the idea of a virtual bank using Internet to support microentreprise during an Aspen Institute conference. Both Jacques Attali and Arnaud Ventura worked together to create Positive Planet[5] (formerly PlaNet Finance), in Paris, in October 1998. Positive Planet[6] became a leading player in the field of international development and microfinance.
In 2005 Arnaud Ventura founded Baobab Group (formerly Microcred[7]), a leading digital finance company focusing on financial inclusion in Africa and China. Baboab offers financial services to emerging customers segment in Madagascar, Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Cost, Mali, Burkina Faso, DRC, Tunisia and China Baobab beyond financial inclusion services offers clean energy and digital services access to low income population in rural Africa through it's Baobab+ unit.
Arnaud is one of the cofounder of the French China Foundation a foundation to develop relationships between France and China. The foundation is particularly acclaimed for its Young Leader program.
