Arthur G. Gordon (1912-2002) was an American writer known for his books A Touch of Wonder, Reprisal, Target Germany, and One Man's Way, a biography of Norman Vincent Peale.

Biography[edit]

Arthur Gordon was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1912, the great grandson of railroad magnate William Washington Gordon and nephew of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts of the USA. Gordon was a Rhodes Scholar and graduate of Yale University. He served with the 8th Air Force during World War II from 1940-1945.[1]

Career[edit]

Gordon was a writer and editor for Cosmopolitan, Guideposts, Collier's, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Reader's Digest, Esquire, Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, and Redbook.[1][2] His nonfiction story "Reprisal" was made into a movie in 1956[3] and his biography of Norman Vincent Peale was also filmed under the title "One Man's Way" in 1964.[4]
