Arthur G. Gordon (1912-2002) was an American writer known for his books A Touch of Wonder, Reprisal, Target Germany, and One Man's Way, a biography of Norman Vincent Peale.
Biography
Arthur Gordon was born in Savannah, Georgia in 1912, the great-grandson of railroad magnate William Washington Gordon and nephew of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of Girl Scouts of the USA. Gordon was a Rhodes Scholar and graduate of Yale University. He served with the Eighth Air Force during World War II from 1940–1945.[1]
Career
Gordon was a writer and editor for Cosmopolitan, Guideposts, Collier's, Ladies' Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Reader's Digest, Esquire, Saturday Evening Post, McCall's, and Redbook.[1][2] His nonfiction story "Reprisal" was made into a movie in 1956[3] and his biography of Norman Vincent Peale was also filmed under the title "One Man's Way" in 1964.[4]
