K L Dhingra (2 October 1955)[2] is an Indian businessman, entrepreneur, and business strategist.[3] Currently, he is holding the post of Chairman and Managing Director of National Culture Fund (NCF).[4] This is a government-owned organisation. Dhingra hit the headlines when ITI[5] grabbed a lucrative deal from BSNL. Dhingra is associated with management and implementation policies, work management, quality control, and new product development. He was Chairman and Managing Director of Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) and Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Ltd.

Early life

K. L. Dhingra was working as a casual labourer in a small village in Haryana. While performing these jobs, he completed his initial degree as a part-time student. In 1981, he joined Dena Bank as a Probationary Officer. Dhingra has a master's degree in commerce. He also obtained a law degree. Following his MBA degree from Delhi University, his stint in the banking sector began when he passed the ACIB (Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers) exam from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, UK. His academic profile includes many courses in finance and banking. Listed amongst the esteemed bankers of India, Mr. Dhingra is a fellow of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, Mumbai; and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
