Asad Que (born August 31, 1976) is a Pakistani-born Canadian actor and singer, most notable for his portrayal of Ari Hagopian, an Armenian psychic, in "Serum for Murder: Dr. Jekyll's Revenge".[1] Born in Pakistan, Asad appeared in his first theatre production at the age of five and went on to perform across continents in four different languages.[2]

Early life and Career[edit]

Asad Que was born in 1976 in Lahore, Pakistan.[3] He received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from University of Central Punjab in 1997, then moved to Canada in his early twenties where he went to Schulich School of Business to study project management, and received his Master's degree in 2004.[3] He founded and operated the IT consulting firm Wi-Logix, Inc. in 2004 before he started working professionally as an actor.

Asad went to Toronto’s Armstrong Acting Studios to learn on-camera acting for TV and film.[3] He also studied Eastern classical music with specialty in the Ragas with Professor Dr. Paramjit Singh,[4] an acclaimed instructor of Indian classical music. He has been singing professionally since 2009, and is expected to release his 12-track debut album, “Holi” in 2017.[5]

Asad is currently acting in TV and film for some major networks and studios in Hollywood.

  • In 2012, his band Swaras[12][13][14] was nominated for two awards, in both the “Emerging Band” and “People's Choice Award” categories, at the MARTYS awards held in Canada.
  • In 2013, his contemporary Ghazal track “Thora Thora” was nominated in the “Best Folk Song” category at the 1st VIMA INDIA music awards in Malaysia.
  • In 2014, Asad was honourably mentioned by Canada’s national broadcaster on CBC.ca as one of Canada’s South Asian artists to watch for.
  • Several of his released tracks are part of “The National Library of Archives” in Ottawa, Canada as “Canadian Heritage”.
