Shehar Yar (Urdu: شہریار; born in Jhelum, August 17, 2002), known mononymously as Shayhriyar is a young Pakistani singer-songwriter who initiated his career by uploading covers on YouTube, where he gained a significant amount of audience.[1]

Early life and education[edit]

Shehar Yar was born on August 17, 2002 in Jhelum, to a Pakistani Muslim family. At the age of 8, Yar moved to Lahore with his family to pursue his career. He went to Army Public Schools & Colleges System as a child and in 2019, he got his matriculation degree in sciences. Till high-school, he was in his schools's music choir. Later, in August 2019, he took admission in Punjab Group of Colleges.

At the age of 16, Yar learnt some basic guitar and piano, and started uploading covers to his YouTube channel.[2] He took inspiration from Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Lana Del Rey and started writing songs. In December 2019, he wrote his first song called "Memories". On May 29, 2020, he released his Debut Ep called "When I First Saw You" that had 3 tracks on it.[3][4]
