Ashok Gaikwad (politician)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Ashok Gaikwad (born 25 November 1959) is an Indian politician.[1] Gaikwad is member of the Republican Party of India (A).[2]

Gaikwad was a candidate in the 2014 Indian general election in the Satara (Lok Sabha constituency) as a representative of Mahayuti, an alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena and Republican Party of India (A). He was the only member of his party to be given an opportunity to be elected by the alliance and lost by a large margin to Udayanraje Bhosale, the Nationalist Congress Party candidate. His defeat was due to non-polarisation between the supporting parties and an independent candidate backed by Shiv Sena.

Gaikwad is still considered as a dominating and favourite Dalit leader among the masses of Satara.[3][4][5][6]
