Athar Siddiqui (born 14 december 1992) is an Indian model.[1] and actor who did his debut in the reality show The bachelorette India(2013)[2] and also came in contact with Indian choreographer Saroj Khan[3]. He has one younger brother and two younger sisters. He is an instrumentation engineer but reportedly he was influenced by movie stars like Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt . So he pursued his passion to become one.

Early life[edit]

Athar was born in Meerut,Uttar Pradesh, India to a Muslim family. He has done his schooling from Meerut Public School, Meerut. Even wanting to pursue modelling, He was pressurized by family to opt Engineering for a better career. He was in college when he started doing modelling.

Career[edit]

He started his career in modelling in 2010 by participating in the Mr. Meerut contest. In that competition, he was given the title "Most charming face " and won that competition . He later won the title of Mr UP in 2010.

His television debut was 'Hum Hai Bajrangi' on Big magic[4].He has participated in India super model competition and struggled in the early period to get in the industry[5]

He has participated in the fashion shows namely Wills India fashion week, Provouge, Pantaloons, and many other shows. As a model he has appeared in some of the known TV commercials such as Royal stag with SRK, Rajnigandha with Priyanka Chopra, Intex phone with Farhaan Akhtar, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Tiger Balm,Bingo Yumitos,Endura Mass Advertisements.

He was also seen in the shows for Best Deal Tv, HBN India. He had played roles in Star Bharat's Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi[6] and in Colors’ Khoob Ladi Mardaani – Jhansi Ki Rani[7] serial and Paramavatar Shri Krishna and believes Mythological roles are challenging[8]

He appeared in a music video "Wedding Da Season" with Shilpa Shetty, Neha Kakkar and Mika Singh.

His work was praised in many TV Shows mostly as an Antagonist[9]. He has also worked in the Television Show 'Parvarish'[10] on Sony. He also is active in talking about current global matters and their effect on the industry[11]
