Athu Ithu Ethu (English: That, This, Which?) is a 2009-2017 Indian-Tamil language television comedy game show aired on STAR Vijay on Saturday evening. Film personalities and celebrities take part in the show. The show always hosts 3 guests. From its inception in 2009 until 2012, the show was hosted by television host Sivakarthikeyan[1], followed by Ma Ka Pa Anand, a former jockey at Radio Mirchi. The show is mostly a medium to promote movies.[2]

Game Format[edit]
Each game consists of three rounds. Each contestant starts with 1000 points and whomever finishes with the most more points wins the game.
Groupula Doopu (Fake in a group)[edit]
The objective is to find the fake in a group of three people, named A, B and C. Two are professionals in their field, while one is trained for the program. Each guest gets two chances to find the fake. In the first chance, they just look at the three. Whomever sounds the buzzer first gets the right to go first and "lock the option" (pick A, B or C). Once locked, the option is unavailable for the other contestants.
In the second chance, contestants are allowed to change options and more than one contestant can lock a single option. A, B and C each perform in buzzer sequence and after all three performances, the guests decide whether to change their option or stay with the same option. For every change, 100 points is deducted from their initial balance. If they fail to identify the fake correctly, they lose 200 points. Thus a maximum loss of 300 points is possible in this round.
Siricha Poachu (Laugh and you lose)[edit]
This is the most popular round. A group of comedians made popular through STAR Vijay's comedy reality show Kalakka povathu yaaru perform a skit. Contestants have to remain tight-lipped. If they laugh, smile or grin, they lose points. They are, however, allowed to interact with the performers. If all three laugh, the first laugher loses 300 points, the next loses 200 and the last loses 100. If only two fail to remain unresponsive, the loss of points is 200 and 100, respectively. If only one laughs, they lose only 100 points.
Robo Shankar, 'Vadivel' Balaji, 'Singapore' Deepan, Amuthavanan, Vignesh Karthick, and Diwakar are the star performers of this round.
Maathi Yosi (Think differently)[edit]
The guests/contestants play for 2 minutes in the order of the buzzer sequence from the first round. The host asks questions and the contestants have to answer something totally irrelevant to the question. Answering relevantly, repeating the same answer, one word answers and remaining silent for more than 5 seconds are disqualifying. The one who lasts 2 minutes without disqualification loses no points. If all three fail to play for 2 minutes, then the point deduction will be based on how long they last. The one who lasted longest loses 100 points while the one who failed first loses 300 points. If only two fail to last for 2 minutes, then the point loss is 200 and 100 based on their duration. If only one fails, he/she loses only 100 points.
Earlier Rounds[edit]
While the second round "Siricha Poachu" has been unchanged since the start of the show, the first and third rounds have evolved. For a short period of time, the first round was changed to "Yarumma Nee" ("Who are you?"). Instead of a group of three, a single professional is present and blindfolded contestants have to identify the field by asking indirect questions. The round was not popular and was replaced with "Groupula doopu".
"Poi solla Poroam" ("We are gonna lie") was used during the initial stages. The round does not involve any external people. The contestants narrate a story based on their true experiences mixed with lies. The other two guests can interrupt if they think a statement is a lie. If they get it right, they do not lose points.
