Brandon Ewing, known online as Atrioc, also known as Glizzy Hands, is an American live streamer, YouTuber and speed runner known for his frequent collaborations with fellow streamer and ASU alumni Ludwig Ahgren. He is known for his marketing-related series Marketing Monday, using his prior experience to give presentations within the marketing field to his audience. Ewing is also a world record holder in speedrunning the video game series Hitman. He began streaming consistently at the beginning of 2020, and has since grown to be one of the most-subscribed streamers on the platform,[1] amassing over 270,000 followers.[2]

Personal life

During college, Ewing was an avid League of Legends player, eventually reaching rank 13 in North America during the games second season in 2012.[3] While studying at Arizona State University, Ewing founded the universities Esports Club, which was later attended by future streamer Ludwig Ahgren.[4]

Career

Career before streaming

After graduating with a degree in marketing, Ewing started his career at Twitch in 2014 as a marketing and content manager, before moving on to work as a Manager of Global Consumer Marketing at graphics card manufacturer Nvidia.[5] Whilst at Nvidia, Brandon has worked on many projects including the introduction of the GeForce RTX Keyboard Keycap and he presented the final E3 GameReady winners as the GeForce host at E3.[6][7]

Streaming career

Smash Bros. Melee

Ewing is active in the Super Smash Bros. Melee scene,[8][9] befriending many well-known players such as Mang0, Hungrybox and Toph.[10][11]

Speedrunning

As a streamer, Ewing became involved in the Hitman speedrunning scene, innovating upon many levels previously thought to be completely explored. He popularized the SA/SO (Silent Assassin Suit Only on Master Difficulty) category and held its first ever world record for the entire Hitman trilogy series.[12] He has since set multiple world records for the trilogy, individual games, and specific levels, and currently has the third fastest run listed on Speedrun.com for the entire trilogy, over 3 hours faster than his original run.[13]

Banned

During September of 2021 Ewing's Twitch account, Atrioc, was banned,[14] the reasoning behind this decision was not disclosed but many believe the decision to be due to a clip, circulating the internet at the time, of Ewing playing through a Wikipedia speedrun in which he displayed many NSFW images, such as “erection”, “human penis”, and “arousal”,[15][16] all of which breach Twitches guidelines.[note 1]

Leaking RFLCT and Valkyrae contract

During the controversy surrounding Valkyrae's endorsement contract with RFLCT Ewing continued to stream. Whilst streaming Ewing unintentionally leaked conversations between Valkyrae and Ludwig about Valkyrae's considerations of leaving RFLCT and her contract.[17] It was seen that Valkyrae felt she 'messed up' due to Ewing's leak of the Discord conversation.[18] This incident was seen as a pivotal point in wrapping up the RFLCT drama.

Age of Empires

Ewing then entered the scene of Age of Empires 4 competing in a number of competitive matches until he finally reached the top 1,000 players.[19]

Elden Ring

On the launch day of Elden Ring, Ewing spent 7 hours attempting to beat the first optional boss.[20]

Innovating audience captivation

In July 2022 the Ewing innovated upon previous streamers usage of livestreaming overlays, to hold audience captivation, by playing a video of jangling keys.[21] This innovative method combined the already used overlays and the attraction of 'jangling' keys in order to keep the audience interested whilst Ewing left the stream unattended to grab some water.

Public.com sponsor

Atrioc was sponsored by Public.com during late 2022[22], this was one of his first big sponsors, helping pave the way for his content creation agency OFFBRAND.

Starting OFFBRAND

In September 2022 Atrioc, Ludwig Ahgren, Stanz and Nick Allen started their own content creation agency, OFFBRAND.[23] Atrioc announced his involvement on September 28th.[24] OFFBRAND is a agency that helps connect content creators to brand sponsors, helps organize events and helps creators ideas become reality, as quoted from the site; "The world's biggest creators have even bigger ideas... We make them happen";[25] the agency has connections to American Eagle Outfitters, Bose Corporation, Crunchyroll, Electronic Arts, Warner Bros. Pictures and more.

Deepfake Pornography Incident

During a live stream on January 30st, 2023, Ewing accidently revealed a browser tab with a pornographic website selling deep fakes of other live streamers, including Pokimane and QTCinderella.[26][27] In response to the controversy, Ewing apologized and resigned from Offbrand.[28] QTCinderella described her friendship with him as irreparable following the incident.[29][30][31]
