Avanthika is a fictional character in the two-part epic historical fiction film of the same name, written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli and produced by Arka Media Works. The character was created by K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and portrayed by Tamannaah. The character first appeared in 2015 in The Beginning and later in The Conclusion (2017).

Character biography

Little is known about Avanthika's past. She is a skilled warrior and was part of a rebel group whose sole mission was to free Queen Devasena from the evil Bhallala Deva, who had held her captive. She later married Mahendra Baahubali and became the Queen of Mahismati kingdom. Her beauty caused Shivudu to cross the large mountains of Mahismati, later falling in love with her. They eventually marry, making her the Queen of Mahishmati.
