Avijit Arya (commonly known as Avi Arya) is an Indian entrepreneur, digital marketing strategist, author, and keynote speaker. He is the founder and chief executive of Internet Moguls, a digital marketing agency that specialises in the hospitality sector, and the creator of The Agency Founder (TAF), a business education platform for agency founders.
Arya began applying internet marketing techniques to his family's hotel business in New Delhi in 2003, predating the commercial launch of major online travel agencies such as MakeMyTrip in India.[1] He founded Internet Moguls in 2009, which grew to serve over 700 clients across ten countries by 2021.[2] He has delivered keynote speeches at conferences including the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, TEDx SGGSCC in Delhi, and the Social Media Mastery Conference in Vancouver.[3]
Early life and education
Arya was born and raised in New Delhi, India. He completed his schooling at Modern School, Barakhamba Road.[4] He holds an MBA in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, which he completed between 2003 and 2006.[4]
As an eighteen-year-old in New Delhi, Arya participated in street car racing. He later joined his father's hotel business following a period of financial difficulty in the family enterprise.[2]
Career
Early digital marketing work (2003–2009)
Arya first conceived of internet marketing for hotels in approximately 1995, but found the conditions in India were not ready. He returned to the idea in 2003, and on 15 December 2003, he acquired his first confirmed digital booking for his family's Ajanta Hotel in New Delhi — which he has described as the first non-branded hotel in India to go live on the internet and attract international guests through it.[2]
Using internet marketing, Arya expanded the family hotel portfolio from one property to five within four years.[1] During this period, TripAdvisor invited him to participate in hospitality marketing seminars in India as a practitioner with domain expertise.[3]
Arya also founded domain names including tourism-india.com and cheapairticketsindia.com, which attracted traffic from international travellers. As MakeMyTrip and Yatra.com entered the Indian market, they approached him to redirect traffic from his portals to theirs.[1]
Internet Moguls (2009–present)
On 15 August 2009, Arya founded Internet Moguls alongside his mother and a team of four people.[1] The agency focused on providing digital marketing services — including search engine optimisation, pay-per-click advertising, social media marketing, and online reputation management — to hotels, restaurants, travel companies, airlines, and tourism boards.
By 2019, Internet Moguls had grown to over 225 employees, with offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai, and Vancouver.[1] By 2021, the agency served over 700 clients across more than ten countries and had generated a cumulative USD 100 million in digital revenues for its clients.[2]
Clients documented in independent sources include Starwood, Marriott, Radisson, JW Marriott, Best Western, Sarovar Hotels, and Thai Airways.[5]
Arya also founded Digital Hospitality, a publication focused on internet marketing for the hospitality industry, and has contributed articles on digital marketing to publications in India and internationally.[4]
The Agency Founder (TAF)
In addition to Internet Moguls, Arya created The Agency Founder (TAF), a business education platform and coaching community aimed at agency founders in India. TAF offers structured programmes — including the 90-Day Premium Client System, Founders Circle, and Founders Table — focused on helping service-based agency owners build scalable sales and operational systems.[6]

Arya has co-authored three books with his daughters, Raya Arya and Avianna Arya:
- Internet Moguls of the World: How the Planet's Best Entrepreneurs Found Their Passion and Never Looked Back (2021). Happy Self Publishing. 464 pages. ISBN 978-1-7376170-3-7. The book is a collection of interviews with over fifty entrepreneurs and executives.[7][8]
- Bedtime Stories For Tomorrow's Entrepreneurs (2017). E-book, published on Amazon Kindle (ASIN B076P85RBD).[9]
- The Fearless Family First Entrepreneurs — a business training programme and accompanying book developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, focused on lead generation through short-form video content.[2]
