Avinash Singh Manhas (born 4 January 1998) is an Indian cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir.[1] He plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.[2]

Early Life[edit]

He was born in Jammu and Kashmir, on 4 January 1998. His father, Ashok Singh, was an auto driver. He has two brothers. Actually, his interest was in joining the Indian Army, but failed to join the army, as he failed the army test twice.

He went to one of his friend's academy, whose name was Mayank Goswami. Impressed by Singh's bowling, Goswami asked Singh if he would like to join his academy. Being financially unstable, Singh decided not to go by making excuses.

When Singh did not go to Goswami's academy for a week, Goswami reportedly went to Singh's house, where he tried to convince Singh's father in making Singh join Goswami's academy. Singh's father declined the offer, as he was financially unstable. In the end, Goswami said to Singh's father that if Singh doesn't go big within a year, he can go to Canada.

Goswami trained Singh for a few weeks, and then sent him to Ashok Gaikwad in Pune, Maharashtra, for three months, from March 2022 to June 2022.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

In February 2023, Singh was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2023 Indian Premier League for Rs. 60 Lakhs.[3] Singh actually had trials from Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, and Delhi Capitals, before signing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
