The Ayisatu Owen International School is a private international school in Techiman, Ghana.
History[edit]
The school was established in 1997.
Academics[edit]
The school follows the national curriculum of the Ghana Education Service (GES). The academic year is nine weeks longer than that of the GES, thus providing time for week-long projects: research and presentations, science expos and talent shows.
Administration[edit]
The school is governed by the shareholders of Reston Enterprises, Ltd (Gh). On-going succession planning favors a distribution of shares to stakeholders in the United States as well as in Ghana (teachers, alumni, PTA, the School Management Committee (SMC)). A five-member PTA executive committee provides input to the management of the school.
Partnership[edit]
The school has been partnered with the For One World, a not-for-profit organization of Old Lyme, Connecticut, since its inception. For One World provides travel grants to international volunteers each year and supports orphans who attend the school.
