Ayo Mary Laurent (born Ayobami Mary Ajayi) is an English fashion designer, actress, television presenter and blogger. She is the chairman and designer of her own fashion label MLR.
Early life[edit]
Ayo Mary Laurent was born on January 16, 1989 in Nigeria to British teacher father. Her mother's family in Nigeria is notable for being in the clothing industry for years. In High School, Ayo Mary Laurent in was the Head Literary and Debating Prefect. She studied Business and Information Technology and graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2012. She then studied at the London School of Journalism.

Television[edit]
After graduating from university, Mary began her television career with Sky Television as an on-screen journalist and news reporter. In 2013, Mary became a news anchor presenting the News Round Up programme. She was also a newsreader on the channel's breakfast programme. Ayo Mary Laurent has Interviewed one on one Professor Kevin Fenton, Toronto FC player Bright Dike, Victor Moses, Peter Odemwingie, Vincent Enyeama, Kenneth Omeruo and Michael Uchebo.
Filmography[edit]
In February 2015 Mary Laurent has appeared as a supporting artist in BBC4 & BBC4 HD Sitcom Asylum where she played the role of the 'ambassador's guest, a show that was inspired by Julian Assange’s two-year stay in the Ecuadorian embassy and the controversial entrepreneur Kim Dotcom.
Fashion Label[edit]
Mary Laurent founded her own fashion label MLR in 2013 when she stated she never had to look too far for inspiration since she was born into a family that has been in the clothing industry for years. In 2015, she became well known for her special handbag collection.[1]
Awards[edit]
In 2013, Mary was nominated in the Women4Africa UK awards for the category 'Blogger of the year'. She was then doubled into the category 'Young Achievers Award of the year' by the board and became a finalist in the blogger of the year category. In 2014, Mary was nominated for Forbes list 'under 30 best Africa's Young Entrepreneur'.[2][3]
