Bilateral relations exist between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Ireland in the political, socio-economic and cultural spheres.[1] Neither country has a resident ambassador. Ireland has a non resident ambassador in Ankara, whilst Azerbaijan has a non resident ambassador in London.

Diplomatic relations[edit]

The government of Ireland recognized the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991.[2]

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ireland were established on 1 July 1996.[3]

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ireland resident in London is Tahir Taghizade.[2]

The legislative assemblies of both countries have working groups on inter-parliamentary relations.[3]

International cooperation[edit]

In the international arena, cooperation between the two countries is carried out within the framework of various international organizations.[4]

Economic cooperation[edit]

According to the data of the United Nations trade office, in 2018, the volume of exports of goods from Azerbaijan amounted to 7.62 million US dollars.
