Aziz A. Nabaty (Arabic عزيز نباتي Kurdish عهزیز نهباتی Syric Aramaic ܥܙܝܙ ܢܒܬܝ; August 12, 1949 – November 5, 2002) was an Assyrian writer, translator, and historian. He published various books, his most famous being: (The History of Ankawa) published in 2000, a detailed study of the history of Ankawa and Erbil, (The Kurds and The Law) translated from the French book (Les Kurdes et le Droit)[1] by the French historian Thomas Bois[2] in 1998, (The Chronicle of Arbela)[3][4] a translation of Mshiha Zkha's manuscript written in Aramaic.[5]
Life
Aziz was born in Ankawa, the northern suburb of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq. He studied elementary school in Ankawa, then moved to Mosul to study Philosophy and Theology at St. John Institution.
Career
Aziz Nabaty started writing articles in the mid-1970s. His articles covered different historical, religious, and literary subjects. He published or translated five books. Aziz Nabaty died on November 5, 2002[6]
