Gor Azizyan, known in the world of sports as Gor MMA, founded the academy of martial arts and works there as a coach.

Biography[edit]

Gor was born on August 2, 1981 in the city of Yerevan where he spent his childhood and early years. From 1988 to 1998 he studied at school number 40 in Yerevan.

At the age of 5, he began to attend martial classes in karate and freestyle wrestling.

In 1998 he entered the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, majoring in martial arts, graduating in 2002.

He served in the army in 2002-2004.

In 2004, he moved to Moscow.

Career[edit]

Since 1987, he attended karate and freestyle wrestling courses.

From 1992 to 1999, the annual champion of Armenia in karate.

1997 World Cup medalist Tokyo.

Winner of the World Youth Championship in 1999 in Hungary, the city of Miskolc.

Moscow karate champion in 2005.

In 2005, he again engaged in freestyle wrestling in the USA.

In 2016-2019, he lived in the USA and worked for the American Top Team.

Since 2017, he has been the official representative of American Top Team in Moscow[1]

GOR MMA CLUB[edit]

In 2004 he founded GORMMA Martial Arts Academy in Moscow.[2]

The school employs 20 coaches of various sports, more than 100 professional fighters and more than 300 amateurs who will soon join the ranks of professional fighters.

The club founded by Gore has existed for 18 years and during this time martial arts academy members have won 16 world champion belts in various promotions.[3]

At the end of December 2022, Gor Azizyan's fighter Sharabutdin Magomedov, known as Shara Bullet, signed a contract with UFC.[10] Also in 2022, he defeated Mikhail Rogozin in Yekaterinburg.

Dmitry Sosnovsky, a UFC league fighter, defeated Mark Godber in London in 2018.[11]

Khamzat Chapanov defeated Sradzhidin Majidov in Moscow.

Bogdan Guskov, under the leadership of Gor Azizyan, defeated Nurlan Toktobakiev by knockout in Kyrgyzstan in 2019, defeated Vadim Litvin in Uzbekistan in 2021, and also defeated Alireza Vafaei [12] in Armenia in 2022.

Valter Ignacio defeated Wagner Maia in Rio de Janeiro in 2022.[13]
