The B3 Biennial of the Moving Image is a biennial and, since 2019, annual cross-media film and art festival in Frankfurt am Main, hosted by the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach. The B3 Biennial celebrated its debut in the fall of 2013 as the successor to the Edit Filmmaker's Festival. It took place at more than 20 locations in Frankfurt am Main and attracted approximately 15,000 visitors.[1] The festival's leading topic was Expanded Narration. The New Narrative and thus set the focus of the biennial on interactive, cross-media storytelling. In the six focus areas of TV series, games, immersion, transmedia, art and cinema, international artists and media creators explored the expansion of storytelling and narrative through new media.[2] In addition to film screenings and exhibitions, an academic conference[3] and workshop program accompanied the festival.[4] One of the partners of the biennial was the Hessische Film- und Medienakademie.[5] Highlights of the cross-media festival included the screening of artistic full-dome films at the Weißfrauen-Diakoniekirche[6] and Laurie Anderson's performance at the Gibson Club in Frankfurt.[7]
