The International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (French: Comité International des Festivals du Film Touristique; CIFFT) is an international organization and network based in Vienna, Austria. Established in 1989, it organizes a global competition for the tourism film industry, known as the CIFFT Circuit.[1]
CIFFT is an Affiliate Member of UN Tourism (formerly the World Tourism Organization - UNWTO) and is officially endorsed by the European Travel Commission (ETC). It aims to reward and promote excellence in tourism communication and promotional films.[2][3]
History
CIFFT was founded in 1989 by Alexander V. Kammel to create a global platform for tourism film excellence. In January 2025, CIFFT and UN Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote sustainable practices in tourism audiovisual content, reinforcing CIFFT's role as a global authority in destination marketing.[2]
The CIFFT Circuit
The CIFFT Circuit is an annual competition that brings together prestigious international tourism film festivals. Filmmakers and tourism boards submit their videos to gain international recognition and earn points toward the CIFFT Ranking List.[4]

World Tourism Film Awards
The awards won at member festivals are converted into points. At the end of the circuit year, the highest-ranking films are awarded the title of "World's Best Tourism Film" during the World Tourism Film Awards ceremony. Unlike the headquarters, the ceremony venue rotates annually:

Tourism Press Award
Launched in partnership with the Spanish agency **Normmal** and supported by UN Tourism, this award is judged by an international panel of travel journalists to recognize impactful tourism storytelling.[7]
