Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran
Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran (born 15 June 1989) is a Nigerian pharmacist and entrepreneur. He was born and brought up in Lagos, Nigeria. He is the last child of six siblings. He is an accomplished pharmacist and a renowned public health practitioner.
Education and experience[edit]
Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran attended Twinkle Star Day Nursery and Primary School. He then attended Toyibat Comprehensive High School for junior secondary school classes and then Command Day Secondary School for senior secondary school classes. He won numerous prizes both in his secondary school and in his primary school. In 2005, Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran graduated high school as one of the youngest in his set. He attempted to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Ibadan and University of Ilorin but was denied admission. In 2006, he got admitted into the Foundation program of the University of Lagos to study Cell Biology and Genetics. At the end of the program, his performance was sub-par and therefore was denied admission as well. In 2008, undaunted by previous failures, he took the Universities Matriculation Examinations to study pharmacy at the University of Lagos. While studying pharmacy, he also was into repairs of phones and laptops for both students and the staff of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. His friendliness was a major tool for his nomination and subsequent winning of several awards such as Most Enterprising Student of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Most Sociable Male Student on Campus, Most Popular Male Student and more.
During the next five years, Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran worked as an intern pharmacist with the Lagos State Health Service Commission, where he was posted to work at various general hospitals managed by the commission. Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran performed his National Youth Service at the Federal University of Technology Akure Medical Centre, treating staff and students of the university. He relocated to the United States of America where he was made a contributor and a reviewer of the American Public Health Association.

Babatunde Shuaib Owokoniran has co-written journal articles and book chapters on the Tobacco smoking cessation, the effect of clinic visit on the cessation decision by tobacco consumers and more.
