Muhammad Kassim Olatunde Balogun (born 5 July 1967) is a Nigerian academic and businessman from Ibadan, Oyo state. He is the managing director and CEO of Global Property and Facilities International Limited.[1][2]
Background and early life[edit]
He was born in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State of Nigeria, to the late Dr. Abdul Ghani Kola Balogun who was a trade unionist, politician and civil administrator, and late Alhaja Memunat Balogun, on July 5, 1967. He spent most of his early life in Ibadan where he attended primary and later in Akure where he had his secondary school between 1973 to 1984, before furthering his tertiary studies at Owerri.[3]

He attends various primary schools in Ibadan between 1973 to 1979 among which was St. Patrick Primary School, and Muslim Primary School, Oke Ibadan. He had his secondary education at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Akure between 1979 –1984. He later proceeded to study at Apostolic Teachers College, Ilesa in 1984 and finished in 1988 at Wesley College, Ibadan. In 1989, he to study at Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Imo State and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors of Engineering.[4] In 2006, he got his MBA at Lagos Business School of Pan-Atlantic University.[5] In 2012, he started his Ph.D. degree in Entrepreneurship at Walden University, USA, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Management by Commonwealth University, Belize, Dubai.[6]
Career[edit]
In 2007, He joined United Bank for Africa as a mechanical services manager, later facilities Manager, then project manager.[7]He is the managing director and CEO of Global Property and Facilities International Limited, and was MD of WSP FMC Nigeria, a position he took after the merger of Domme FM Ltd with WSP FMC Nigeria Ltd in 2012.[8][9] He is a member of the board of directors of Premier Paints Plc and the Chairman of the strategy committee of the board.[10][11] In 2009, he volunteers as a lecturer for the Masters in Facilities Management Program at the department of Estate Management, School of Environmental Sciences, University of Lagos. In 2014, he was appointed an Adjunct Lecturer.[12]
