Bablr is an Early childhood education programme for children 0 to 3 years old. It is created by Neosap EdTech, a London and Mumbai based Educational technology startup. The Bablr curriculum draws from early development theories of neuroscience, child psychology, Montessori method, among others, and from the fact that 85% of neural connections in the human brain are formed in the first three years.[1] It claims to expedite brain development and lay the foundation for future learning during the 0-3 years' development window. This is reflected in their tagline Uncover the Genius in Your Baby.

Products and Services[edit]

The Bablr Early Learning System is meant to be used by parents at home. It comes in a package that includes a mobile app, tablet app, a web app, and Material Boxes.[2]

After parents register their babies on the app, the algorithm recommends personalized activities for each baby. Parents can do these baby activities with the help of materials provided by Bablr or household materials. Some of the Bablr activities are also facilitated by the tablet app. The Bablr system claims to combine both Digital and Physical elements to facilitate Learning through play as part of its methodology.[3]

History[edit]

Neosap Edtech started in 2018. Its teams in London, Mumbai & Pune spent over two years along with experts around the world to build the Bablr Early Learning System. The product was launched in February 2020 in India.[4]

Methodology[edit]

The Bablr Curriculum targets multiple dimensions of a baby’s cognitive development:

  • Linguistic Ability[5]
  • Knowledge of the World
  • Math and Reasoning
  • Developmental Experiences
  • Music & Arts[6]
  • General Development

Bablr combines Digital Show-and-Tell, Experience-based, and Materials-based activities.[7] It brings together Observational Learning, Visual learning, and blends practices from established popular methodologies such as Montessori. [8]

All activities in the Bablr programme are designed to be carried out between parent / caregiver and the child – intended to increase their Emotional Quotient and empathy levels along with Intelligence Quotient. The product literature suggests that bonding between caregiver and baby is an essential component of the Bablr Early Learning method.[9]
