‘’‘Badri Sadrhashemi’’’ (born 21 March 1958 in Isfahan) is an Iranian writer and poet. Her father worked for the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), while her mother was a homemaker. Her family’s interest in books and culture introduced her to Persian literature from an early age. Because of her strong memory, she was encouraged by her family and those close to her to study literature.

Family background

Sadrhashemi comes from an Isfahan family traditionally known as Sadr al-Ulama. The family has a longstanding scholarly, literary and cultural background. Several relatives, particularly on her father’s side, worked in literature, research and journalism. The family burial place is located at Takht-e Foulad, Isfahan’s historic cemetery, where several members of the family are buried.

Personal life

She is married to Fazlollah Khodarahmi, an Iranian clarinettist and music teacher. Two of their children, Behzad Khodarahmi and Behnam Khodarahmi, are composers and instrumentalists who work professionally in Persian music. She has occasionally collaborated with them on poems and song lyrics.

Works

Her works include the book ‘‘Man Shahnameh-am’’ (’‘I Am the Shahnameh’’).
