Bala Beeram is a New Zealand politician and a National Party candidate for the Kelston electorate in the New Zealand general election, 2017.[1][2]
Political career[edit]
Bala was born in India and moved to New Zealand in 1999. He was the president of New Zealand Telugu Association for a term and has been an advisory committee member.He organized tree plantation program, blood donation events, fundraisers for cultural activity, and a major badminton tournament [3]. He joined the New Zealand National Party in 1999 and has been associated and actively supported the party since then. He was announced as a candidate for Kelston Electorate the National Party announced Bala as the candidate for KelstonElectorate[4][5].
Personal life[edit]
Bala comes from a farming family where both his parents are farmers. He graduated from Bhopal University, India, with a Masters in Chemistry and worked as a chemistry lecturer at an Intermediate school in India. He is working as a Scientific Analyst for AsureQuality Ltd. In 2015, he received the Delegate Achievement Award by the New Zealand Public Service Association for his services and leadership [6].
