Baltic Studios is a recording studio complex located in Haggerston, East London, England.[1][2] It was founded in 2012 by British record producer & composer Orlando Leopard and film composer Caspar Leopard.[3][4][5]
Overview[edit]
Baltic Studios has three recording rooms; Studio 1 is centered around an SSL G Series Console, Studio 2 is a large open-plan multi-use space & Studio 3 is a mix, master & atmos room created in partnership with electronic producer & DJ Digby Smith.[6][7][8]
Baltic ATM (Access to music)[edit]
In 2019, Baltic ATM was established to address inequalities in access to music. Initially, Baltic organized non-profit events with profits being donated to music charities based in London.[9] From 2021 to 2023 Baltic partnered with NTS Radio contributing subsidised studio time to support exciting & under-represented artists through the NTS WIP program.[10][11][12][5] During this period, Baltic made similar partnerships with Grounded Sounds, Coram, Ladies Music Pub & PRS Foundation’s Power Up.[9]
Notable Artists[edit]
Baltic has hosted various artists, including Bjork, Sampha, Ama Lou, Skepta, Arctic Monkeys, Lianne La Havas, Thurston Moore, Liam Gallagher, Paloma Faith, James Bay, Jessie Ware, Glass Animals, MIA, Crystal Fighters, Metronomy, Florence & The Machine, The Rolling Stones and more.[13][14][7][8]
