The Bandra-Khar Residential Zone is a homogeneous neighbourhood which is one of the most vibrant and livable residential areas of Mumbai, India.
Geography[edit]
Spread across the adjoined suburbs of Bandra West and Khar West (sharing postal codes 400050 and 400052), the coastal stretch from the Bandstand Promenade in the south to Carter Road Promenade in the north mark the western edge of the Bandra-Khar Residential Zone. Swami Vivekanand Road (S.V. Road) running through Bandra West and Khar West is the eastern edge of this neighbourhood.
Characteristics[edit]
Two arterial north-south roads in the form of the Linking Road and Swami Vivekanand Road trisect the western areas of Bandra and Khar into blocks of land around them. These blocks of land are further criss-crossed by beautiful tree-shaded numbered roads across both suburbs, which define the vibe of this collective neighbourhood. The numerous well maintained housing societies and independent homes lining these roads, along with an exhaustive choice of fine dining, shopping and socializing establishments, make the Bandra-Khar Residential Zone one of the most desirable addresses to live in Mumbai. This is also the area where a considerable number of Hindi Film Industry (Bollywood) actors reside.
