Bankoman Senior High School is a co-educational secondary school in the Sekyere Kumawu District [1] of the Ashanti Region of Ghana. the school is named after the town it is located in, Banko. "Bankoman" literally means the Banko community.

History[edit]

The school was established as a private community day school in 2004.[2] It received support from Anja van der Valk, a Dutch philanthropist who founded and operated the NGO; Foundation About Borders for Ghana.[3] Her NGO constructed [4] two three-unit storey building and one unit block which is being used for computer studies.[5] In 2012 it was re-designated as a public school.

Achievements[edit]

Bankoman Senior High School placed 3rd in the 2019 Independence day competition on cancers organised by the Breast Care International and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC).[6]
