The Banque Nationale de Crédit was a significant French bank headquartered in Paris, founded in 1913 as a French subsidiary of the Comptoir d'escompte de Mulhouse as the latter was then headquartered in German-ruled Alsace-Lorraine. It collapsed in late 1931 and its activity was taken over in early 1932 by the newly formed Banque Nationale pour le Commerce et l'Industrie. It is one of the predecessor entities of BNP Paribas.
