Baraa Kadek
Mohammed Baraa Kadek ( ? – 31 May 2017), also known as Rayan Meshaal, was a Syrian journalist and the founder of the Halab News Network and the Amaq News Agency.

Kadek was born in al-Bab, Syria.
At the outset of the Syrian Civil War he was a pro-Syrian opposition activist and journalist. He founded the Halab News Network based in Aleppo, Syria. He became close to IS after he supported their presence in Aleppo city in 2013. According to his former friend Mohammed Khaled, Kadek’s move to support IS was remarkable and came as funding for his Halab News Network dried up.[1]
In late 2013 he joined the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. In 2014 he and seven other Syrians who had been part of Halab News created the Amaq News Agency.[2][3]
In 2014 he traveled to Iraq for a meeting with IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi regarding the operations of Amaq News Agency. He was also a close friend of Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, the groups spokesman until his death in 2016.
Death[edit]
An airstrike in Mayadin, Syria, suspected of having been carried out by the U.S.-led coalition wounded Kadek, as well as his wife and daughter, on 26 May 2017. Kadek died of his wounds on 31 May. According to some reports, his daughter also died.[4][5][6]
