Barjatya Art And Culture Trust is the trust which promotes all types of art form and most importanty Indian Culture. It was founded in 2019 by Priya Barjatya Dhingra, a Delhi-based artrepreneur and entrepreneur, daughter of Mahavir Barjatya, wife of Pawan Dhingra, Director, American Express . Barjatya Art and Culture Trust is a registered body under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 with the mandate to produce, promote, encourage and showcase different forms of art and culture. The Trust has organized several events like dance and music competitions to promote art and culture while giving a platform to people across various age groups for showcasing their talent. It also aims to delve into many other elements and forms of art to bring out and promote various nuances and shades of India’s rich culture.

The Trust organized Malang Dance Competition in the year 2019 which saw huge participation and was a roaring success. The chief guest for this event was Manoj Tiwari and the judges were Suparna Bhushan Sood (a trained Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, kathak dancer and  a choreographer), Kcalpana Sood (a trained Bharatanatyam dancer, Kuchipudi dancer, kathak dancer, mohiniattam dancer, Kathakali dancer, choreographer, Dance Guru, Founder of Kcalpana Kala Kendra), Ram Gautam [1] (a trained hip-hop, contemporary, Chhao Instructor and Dancer) and Kulldeep Sandhu [2](a successful music composer, director and Singer). [3]. Due to pandemic in June 2020, Barjatya Art And Culture Trust organised a sequel of Malang Dance Competition by conducting it online. E-Malang Dance Competition, as it was known, too saw a brilliant response. This was soon followed by E-Malang Singing and Rapping Competition. The online format saw participation from not just across India but also from other countries.

Malang Dance Competition[edit]

Malang Dance Competition was held on 11th August 2019 at Narsingh Sewa Sadan, near City Park Hotel, Pitampura. The competition was judged by Suparna Bhushan Sood (a trained Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, kathak dancer and a choreographer), Kcalpana Sood (a trained Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, kathak, mohiniattam, Kathakali dancer, choreographer, Dance Guru, Founder of Kcalpana Kala Kendra), Ram Gautam [4] (a trained hip-hop, Contemporary, Chhao Instructor and Dancer) and Kulldeep Sandhu [5](a successful music composer, director and Singer) Kamini Jain was responsible for managing the PR and sponsorships. Not only did she supervise the entire participant registration process, she also shared her valuable inputs while selecting our honorable judges and creating the performance evaluation criteria. Shruti Jain was the compere of the show; she beautifully facilitated the entire event. Kriti Sethi, Gaurish Chawla and Tusharika Arora helped in various tasks associated with the event. Right from creating and handling all social media handles, to the digital marketing in all forms, TJ Sandhuu designed all creatives, logos and certificates for Barjatya Art And Culture Trust.

Yatharth Dhingra, a student of Hindu college, Delhi University undertook the financial and operational planning of the event. This included the expenditure on logistics and the amount to be raised from the sponsors. Moreover, he also planned the flow of events for the competition, to ensure that all the events are carried out on the proper given time. Additionally, he was also involved in the heavy marketing of the event, in order to garner the participants for the event. Gurdeep Singh (DJ Lucky) beautifully managed the stage and music for the competition

E-Malang Dance Competition[edit]

E-Malang Dance Competition was held from 13th June - 16th June 2020. This competition featured participants from all corners of India and countries like USA, England and Australia. It was judged by eminent judges including Sandeep Soparrkar (Indian Latin Ballroom Dancer), Sreemoyee Ganguly (Nritya Visharad in Odissi), Neerja Sharma (Director-National Institute of Indian Classical Dance and an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer) and Rupal Daryapurkar (Kathak Visharad). Guest of honour was Dr Aman Bathla Certified "World's Fastest Piano Artist" with 52 World Record Titles from across the Globe internationally awarded educator from UNICEF/UNESCO, Kamini Jain was responsible for managing the PR and sponsorships. Not only did she supervise the entire participant registration process, she also shared her valuable inputs while selecting our honorable judges and creating the performance evaluation criteria. Right from creating and handling all social media handles, to the digital marketing in all forms, TJ Sandhuu designed all creatives, logos and certificates for Barjatya Art And Culture Trust. He helped by posting all entries in a time barred manner, and also facilitating them with opening and closing ceremony.

E-Malang Singing And Rapping Competition [2] was held from 25th October - 1st November 2020. Kamini Jain was responsible for managing the PR and sponsorships. Not only did she supervise the entire participant registration process, she also shared her valuable inputs while selecting our honorable judges and creating the performance evaluation criteria. More than 100 singers and rap artists from various parts of India and countries like USA, London, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan participated and showcased their talent. Judges were Gaurav Pal aka Muhfaad (Famous Rapper and Music Producer), Sudhir Yaduvanshi (The Voice Of India 2019, Guinness Book of World Record Holder, Singer, Performer and Composer), Teji Sandhu (Punjabi Pop Star), Hyde Karty (Rapper, Cine-Actor, Cine-Singer and Lyricist) and BMAC Mastamind (Hip-Hop Rapper, Beat Boxer, Music Producer and Lyricist). Right from creating and handling all social media handles, to the digital marketing in all forms, TJ Sandhuu designed all creatives, logos and certificates for Barjatya Art And Culture Trust. He helped by posting all entries in a time barred manner, and also facilitating them with opening and closing ceremony. Ritvik Sikka mersmerised the judges, participants and the audience by his performance as guest singer at the Opening Ceremony of E-Malang Singing and Rapping Competition.

Gurdwara Panja Sahib [3][edit]

Gurdwara Panja Sahib” is a 20-minute documentary Directed By TJ Sandhuu, Voice-over and Interviews done by Priya Barjatya Dhingra, written by Sangeeta Jain and Kamini Jain, producers were Pramod Jain, Kapil Jain and Pawan Dhingra. The documentary is depicting the famous shrine situated at Hasan Abdal, in Pakistan. The word "Panja" in Punjabi means an "outstretched palm" from the word "Panj" which means "five". The shrine is thus called because the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji left his handprint that is still etched on a boulder at the Gurdwara. The sacred handprint also serves as a symbolic reminder of the important lesson Guru Nanak Dev Ji preached to his devotees.

Many thousands of faithful Sikhs from all over the globe visit this shrine. However, four times a year, during special celebrations, an enormous number of Sikh pilgrims attend this Gurdwara from every corner of the world. Special visas are allocated by the Pakistan government to cater for the increased demand. The film starts with explaining /looks at the history, structure of the shrine. It also explains main principles of Sikhism. Deeply embedded values of spirituality and selfless service plays themselves out in the form of everyday activities like the langar. The founder of the Barjatya Art and Culture Trust, Priya Barjatya Dhingra is an artrepreneur and entrepreneur based out of Delhi.  Before becoming an entrepreneur, she has had a long and eventful career with many reputed organizations. She began her professional journey with American Express, later moving on to media organizations like AajTak and Sahara. She then played managerial roles in DCM and later in Purearth Infrastructure Limited. She is also the founder and Director of BPM Enterprises Pvt Ltd, under which a startup by the name PetMantraa that started in 2020 is now gaining traction.  She has rich experience working in the corporate sector for the last 25 years. Her engagement in various activities makes her profile versatile.

Having her roots in a family that founded the Rajshri Pictures Pvt. Ltd, a pioneer in film-making and distribution in India, it was perhaps natural for her to create a space for herself in this field. Her memories of childhood are interspersed with watching film shootings, attending premiere screenings, and interacting with prominent stars! The love for media, from a young age, a scientific mind- which resulted in a degree in Mathematics, has resulted in her work ethic of artistic perfection.

Her first venture in the media was a collection of Shabads, which was released under the banner Barjatya Sisters (Sangeeta Barjatya Jain, Kamini Jain and Priya Barjatya Dhingra). From cutting an album on devotional music, They then went on to produce a short film on the renowned Gurdwara Panja Sahib which was directed by TJ Sandhuu. Artists from various dance academies and schools in Delhi-NCR participated in Malang Dance Competiton organized by Barjatya Art and Culture Trust at Narsingh Seva Sadan, Pitampura. Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari was the Chief Guest of the competition. “The program was a great success with participants across age brackets , dance academies and various schools from NCR competed in this prestigious competition. Varied dance forms were performed right from Bharatnatyam, Folk, Hip Hop , Bollywood , Bhangra, Contemporary and Freestyle,” said Priya Barjatya Dhingra, founder of the trust. [8]

TenNews[edit]

Ms Priya Barjatya Dhingra, laid the foundation of the trust last year (2019) and successfully conducted reality dance program – Malang Dance Competition. Children, boys & girls from all age groups participated and was a roaring success.

Inspired by the success of last year, this time the online E-Malang Dance Competition was held from 13-16 June 2020. This competition asserts itself as a testimony to the fact that Dance is, in fact, unstoppable. Due to the Covid -19 pandemic , this time the format of the competition was online and keeping in mind the social -distancing, no group performances were encouraged and only solo performances were kept. The participation came from 11 different states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Rajasthan etc. All the participants were requested to send the dance videos online by prompting their name & participation code number .

On June 13, at 11 am, the opening ceremony was conducted through zoom call which was seen & attended live by chief Guest , judges and all the contestants

At 11 am Priya Barjatya Dhingra, Kamini Jain, Yatharth Dhingra and all the contestants did the lighting of the lamp. It was attended by out Chief Guest Dr. Aman Bathla, WORLD’s FASTEST PIANO ARTIST with 52 World record titles from across the globe. He created history in piano playing with his 2 world records based on Indian Classical music: ‘2221 notes in 1 minute’ and ‘47 notes in 1 second’. He is also an Internationally awarded educator from UNICEF/UNESCO.

Our Judges Mr. Sandip Soparrkar who is a famous Indian and Ballroom dancer and choreographer, Smt. Neerja Sharma who is an acclaimed Bharatnatyam dancer and founded NIICD (National Indian Institute of Indian Classical Dance) in 2008. Mrs. Rupal Daryapurkar who is a Kathak Visharad, Ms Shreemoyee Ganguly who is Nritya Visharad in Odissi. This ceremony encouraged the participants to give their best and perform with utmost enthusiasm & zeal.

dance videos of contestants started pouring in online for this prestigious dance competition. So far, about more than 70 dance videos have been uploaded from all over India, across age groups children, young boys, girls ,men and women.

On June 16 at 6:30 pm, E-Malang Dance Competition judges were eagerly waiting to announce the winners and closing ceremony. Mr Yatharth Dhingra coordinated the closing ceremony with grace. He welcomed the chief guests, and judges. Judges were overwhelmed to See the response and the enthusiasm with which all the dancers performed. They were surprised at the fact that participants of all age brackets from 6 years to 50 years took part from all over India doing all the form of dances with grace. Everyone appreciated the organisers of Barjatya Art and Culture Trust for organising such a high level Competiton at this testing times of Covid 19. We are proud of our country and our artists, who are not letting their confidence down even during these turbulent times. Barjatya Art and Cultural Trust is organizing E-Malang Singing And Rapping Competition. Children from different cities of the country are participating in this. So far 60 children have participated in it. The competition will be contested on 20 October. The winners will then be announced. Sikh Art & Film Foundation[edit]

This film festival was being screened at the prestigious Sikh International Film Festival New York 2019 by the Sikh Art and Film Foundation at the Pale Centre for Media, New York. The film festival was to celebrate the rich Heritage, Traditions and Culture of Sikhs and the immigrant experience through a diverse mix of Documentaries, Short and Frature Films.

Barjatya Art and Culture Trust was being honoured by Dr Amritpal (Paul) S Johar, film festival chairperson and Harmeet Bharara, Heritage Gala Chairperson.[10]

Associations[edit]

The Trust is also associated with Bharatiyam, an All India registered NGO since 2007. Mr KJ Rao is the chairman and Mr Srinivas Kotni is the Founder of the NGO. They are working in creating environmental awareness and supporting developmental activities for its initiative ‘Ragas for Yamuna', an event which was conducted on 21st Feb 2021 with the dual purpose of promoting the purification of Yamuna river banks and promoting classical and folk music.

The next initiative would be Ragas for Yamuna-2, Covid Care Concert in June 2021

  • The Trust has a few ambitious projects in the pipeline. It aims to engage with many other forms of art to fulfill its true mission as a Cultural Trust.
  • The next documentary Barjatya Art and culture is working upon is on SEVA, meaning selfless service, The team have already interviewed people including Rawail Singh(Head of Department,Punjabi, Delhi University), Harbhajan Singh, Jagjit Singh Dardi (Chairman, Chardikala Time TV Group), Gurdeep Singh (Manager, World Punjabi Organisation), Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Amarjeet Singh (Giani's), Veer Bhupinder Singh (Living Treasure), Kuldip Singh Bagga (Simco), Manisha Batra(Punjabi Lecturer, Delhi University)and Trilochan Singh. The plans are to showcase the documentary at all relevant places and in the Film Festivals in India and abroad
