Barry J. Gillis (born Barry James Gillis) is a Canadian Screenwriter, Film Producer, Actor, Film Editor, and Film Director.[1][2][3]
His movies include Things (1989),[4] Wicked World (1991),[5] The Killing Games (2014).[6] 𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘖𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘚𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴 (2020) He is currently in Post Production on 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘡𝘰𝘯𝘦. He has edited a book of horror short stories, The Day They Hanged My Best Friend Jimmy... And 21 Other Weird Tales: To Get You Through The Coldest Nights (2009).
Career[edit]
Gillis' film The Killing Games premiered at the Calgary International Film Festival.[7]
Gillis is the founder of the Edmonton Festival of Fear International Festival. Landmark Cinemas threatened to pull the plug on his film festival, after complaints from citizens in the city of Edmonton, about a frightening image used to advertise the festival.[8][9][10][11]
