Bathikepelly (also Bathkepally, Bathikepally or Bathkapalli) is a village located in Pegadapally mandal, in the Jagtial district (formerly in the Karimnagar district) of Telangana state.[1]
There is a Legal Care and Support Centre in the village, operated by the Telangana State Legal Services Authority.[2]
History
Local traditions:
- Bathikepelly Village is located 52 kilometres from Karimnagar, 4 kilometres from Mandal(Pegadapally), 18 kilometres from Jagityal and 14 kilometres from Mallial.
- Once upon a time, the village faced problems from "Rajakarlu," an army from the Nizam’s kingdom. In those days, the people used to run away from the village.
- TSRTC provides buses from Karimnagar and Jagityal, from early morning 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
- Sri Markandeya was located in the middle of the village.
- Hanuman Temple (Kocheruvu gutta) was located on the way to Pegadapelly (2 kilometers from the center of the village).
- It is a good place for agriculture.
- Ex-Minister (R&B) Sri T. Jeevan Reddy Garu’s birthplace.
- Bathikepelly is a major village of Pegadapally Mandal.
