Battle Carnival is a free-to-play MMOFPS game. It was developed and published by Zepetto in 2016.[1] By the end of the same year, the game was also published by GameNet and became available in Russia and the CIS.
Gameplay
Battle Carnival is a team multiplayer FPS using a system of quick matches. Each round lasts no more than 10 minutes. At the end of the match, players get in-game currency and experience points used for upgrading their account level. Before entering the battle, players have to choose a character and a primary weapon. Secondary weapons, such as knives and grenades, are tied to characters and cannot be changed.
The game has 12 playable characters,[2] each with their own story, active and passive skills, and unique secondary weapons. Each character also has a different amount of health points and additional perks like quick running or the ability to move quietly.[3]
Storyline
The main story plot centers around the mysterious explosion of antimatter, and every playable character is somehow connected to this incident. Some are trying to get their hands on the antimatter for profit, others wish to hide the artifact to prevent it from falling into wrong hands, causing further disaster. There are those who gained superpowers after the explosion—players will be able to use those in battle.[4]
Game modes
Standard game
- Classic Deathmatch— players need to shoot enemies until the time runs out. The team with more points at the end of the round wins. Character skills are not available.
- Skill Deathmatch— classic mode with active character skills available.
- Deathmatch— allows to use various items found on the map to gain special bonuses. Character skills are not available.
- Classic Demolition— one team needs to plant a bomb, and the other has to defuse it. Alternatively, either side can win by simply killing all enemies.
- Demolition— same as Classic Demolition, but with character skills available.
- Escaping— escape mode with character skills available. One team needs to reach the extraction point, and the other has to prevent it.
Rank game
- Only Demolition mode is available.
Rank game rules
Two teams of 5 players each are matched. The team that wins 6 rounds first will be the winner. The system will automatically match teammates and opponents based on the rating scores of players.[5]
Ranks
At the end of each match, characters get in-game money as well as experience points that can be used to upgrade their account level. Every such upgrade provides players with special points that can be used to purchase characters. All players start from rank 0 with a level cap currently at 500.
Clans
Clans are created to unite like-minded players with common goals, be it competition or just communication. Any player reaching rank 25 can create a clan. The "Clans" section of the game contains information about all existing clans as well as membership details. In the clan list, you can see the number of players in any selected clan, their gender, age, and country as well as availability of voice chat outside the game.
