The Battle of Pangwa was fought between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the government of Myanmar. Fighting occurred in late April when the KIA launched an offensive to capture the Burmese military posts around Pangwa, Kachin State. They succeeded, and the Burmese army retreated from the area by the end of April.[1]
