In 1221, during the Khwarezm-Mongol War, Jalal al-Din Mangburni, who defeated the Mongols at the Battle of Nesa, found 10,000 men joining his forces in Qandahar.[4] He fought the Mongol army led by Tolui[5], who besieged Qandahar, for 3 days. The Mongol army was much larger than his. He finally defeated them[6][7] and headed towards Valion castle. And he defeated the Mongols at the Battle of Valion[8]
