BEAMSTART is an instant messaging platform that assists businesses in connecting with vendors.[1], investors[2], and working class professionals[3]. The application operates as a platform as a service, with features to facilitate business matching[4], talent sourcing[5], and community building[6].
The company was established in 2016 in Singapore[7], and has since expanded operations to Malaysia and China[8]. Today its team is based in three offices, located in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Shanghai.
History[edit]
Formerly known as BEAM[9], the company was started in 2016 as an app to connect technology startup communities across Singapore and Malaysia[10]. It was founded by serial entrepreneurs Kenneth Ho and Wallace Ho, both who are Malaysian nationals [11].
The company was later rebranded to BEAMSTART in 2019 to avoid confusion with other companies sharing similar names[12][13]
