History
The Bengal Tigers were a professional T10 cricket franchise that competed in the first two seasons of the T10 League in Sharjah. Owned by Rizwan Sajan (Chairman of Danube Group) and Neelesh Bhatnagar, the team was one of the founding members of the competition in 2017.[1]
The franchise was highly competitive during the Sharjah era, finishing 5th in the inaugural season and achieving a 3rd-place podium finish in 2018 after defeating the Maratha Arabians in the third-place playoff.[2]
In September 2019, as the league moved its base to Abu Dhabi, the owners announced that the team would be rebranded as the Delhi Bulls. Rizwan Sajan stated the change was made to broaden the team's appeal to the North Indian diaspora and align with the group's business interests in Delhi.[3]
