The Better Business Bureau Video Series' goal is to educate consumers before a problem occurs in order to reduce the frustration and expense derived from poor purchase decisions. Video titles for the series are taken from the list of inquiries and complaints generated by the BBB each year (nearly 90 million in 2005). Consulting with national organizations and interviewing industry experts each program makes certain that the information is current, accurate, and unbiased.

Over the last 8 years, the BBB Video Series has developed a distribution channel to public libraries nationwide, where consumers can check out the video series for free. In addition, the BBB Video Series has maintained agreements with 140 local Better Business Bureaus around the country where consumers can inquire about local business and acquire resources to handle disputes.

- Identity Theft[1] is the fastest growing crime in America. Working closely with the Federal Trade Commission, FBI, and the Postal Inspection Service, this video program aims to educate consumers on how identity thieves exploit their victims, how consumers can minimize their risk, and offers step-by-step instruction on what to do if a consumer becomes a victim of identity theft.
- Hiring a Home Contractor[2] can be a very difficult task. The amount of responsibility you are putting into a strangers hands can make this decision a vital one. This program helps you evaluate bids and contracts, provides a checklist of guidelines to follow while working through our home improvement project, and helps you locate a General contractor.
- Crash Course: what to know before and after a collision[3] was created in association with the American Automobile Association (AAA), and Findlaw to educate drivers and potential car crash victims on automobile insurance coverage before a collision, steps consumers should take at the scene, and how to effectively deal with property damage and injury claims after a collision.
- Corrective eye surgery[4] or more well known as LASIK, is increasing in popularity around the country. In conjunction with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, this video helps consumers make wise decisions when choosing a procedure and surgeon. As with any elective procedure, it is important to remember you are a consumer, not a patient.
- Who's Minding the Children: choosing quality childcare[5] was developed through extensive research, examination of consumer complaints, and interviews with; child care professionals, early childhood teachers, industry experts and related organizations. Endorsed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, childcare should be properly evaluated by the parents before making any final decision on a childcare facility.
- Know Fraud: don't be a victim[6] addresses mail and telephone fraud. This program was developed with the cooperation of the United States Postal Inspection Service and features material drawn from their investigations and enforcement actions including interviews with victims, US Postal Inspectors, and former con artists.
- Self Defense for Car Expense[7] addresses the consistent top 10 complaint, auto repair facilities. This program will show the consumer how to find a good repair facility and provide some inside tips on taking your car into the shop. Information for this video was developed through extensive research, examination of consumer complaints, interviews with automotive industry leaders and repair professionals.
- Buying a recreational vehicle[8] can be the second largest purchase a consumer may make next to their home. The program will explain how to check out an RV dealer, help consumers select the right RV, show how to evaluate used RVs, and supply tips from industry experts from around the country.
