Panwar, Pawar is a Kshatriya caste. Panwar is considered as one of the four Agnikul or fire-born castes. Their ancestors were warriors. Mount Abu is their Birth place. They are also known as Agnivanshi, their gotra is said to be Vashishtha.

One of the community having around 72 kuls or branches found in the area of Betul Chhindwara and Wardha, associated with Bhoyar community said themselves as Bhoyar Pawar. These Bhoyar Pawars in Betul Chhindwara & Wardha Districts are considered to be Sub caste of Bhoyar Community. Out of Four sub caste in Bhoyar community, Bhoyar Pawar claims to be descendants of Panwar [1][2] or Parmar Rajput. The word Panwar, pawar is a corruption of Parmar.[3][4][5][6]

This community of Panwars, considering Raja Bhoj as their ideal, celebrates Raja Bhoj Jayanti with great pomp every year on Basant Panchami.

The Bhoyar Pawars of Betul Chhindwara and Wardha claim to be descendants of Raja Bhoj and Jagdev panwar.
