Bhanu Srivastav (भानु श्रीवास्तव) is an Indian writer, author and columnist, known for his Indian-English novel Hacker 404 Happiness not found.[1][2][3][4] Bhanu is working with Canara Bank at their Head Office, Bengaluru in e-Learning Department. He also worked in Business Process Re-engineering & Innovation and HR Departments of Syndicate Bank (now Canara Bank).[5][6][7]
Bhanu was creative since from the beginning, at the age of 21, during his engineering, he founded a Startup named - The Backbenchers. It was a tech Startup founded in the hostel room of college for analyzing data that was collected from user's activities on social media pages, websites, and other online means. Now The Backbenchers[8] is a big company serving clients from several countries.
While working with Syndicate Bank, he developed self-running smart websites by the application of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in basic source code. Bankerpedia[9] was the first website to run on this technology. After he had got fame through Bankerpedia, he was chosen for leading Synd Innovate 2019[10] which was a National Level Hackathon[11] & became a blockbuster Event as compared to other Hackathons conducted by Multinational Companies in India. He was also behind the 83 minutes Documentary - Synd Innovate 2019 Hackathon Highlights.[12][13]
Early life and education[edit]
Bhanu was born into a Hindu family in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is an alumnus of Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, in the National Capital Region of India & Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI), Hyderabad.
During his engineering at the college, he founded a Start-up named The Backbenchers which was a tech Start-up founded in the hostel room of college for analyzing data that was collected from user's activities on social media pages, websites, and other online places. Now, The Backbenchers is a well-known company serving clients from several countries.
After completing his Mechanical Engineering in 2013 from Galgotia College, Bhanu cleared IBPS exam and joined Syndicate Bank (Now Canara Bank). While working with Syndicate Bank, he completed two PGDs in International Business Operations & Information Security respectively and one Masters in the field of Commerce from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi.
Bhanu holds more than a hundred Certifications from Institutes & Companies like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York Institute of Finance, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, National Stock Exchange of India, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and so on.
Career[edit]
Bhanu is currently working with Syndicate Bank (Now Canara Bank)[14][15]. He already served in various departments. He managed Syndicate Bank’s eLearning Department for two years & created an AI Bot named “Kajal” for handling the eLearning Support System. He was also the part of HR Transformation Project “Samarth” and conducted several Mentorship Programs like “Women Leaders Mentorship Program”, “Reverse Mentorship Program”, “First Time Branch-Head Mentorship program” and so on.

Bhanu was chosen to lead SYND iNNOVATE 2019, which was a National Level Hackathon by the MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank Mr. Mrutyunjay Mahapatra. He also made 83 minutes Documentary named “Synd Innovate 2019 Hackathon Highlights” in collaboration with Chief Marketing Officer of Syndicate Bank.
At present Bhanu is working on Smart eLearning Solutions for the employees in his Bank.
Personal life[edit]
Bhanu is an Introvert person and prefers very limited communication with people. He spends most of his time in solitude and speaks only when he feels like speaking. He doesn’t use social media, never attend parties and has a very small friend circle.
In November 2019, Bhanu was diagnosed with multiple mental disorders like Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Dissociative identity disorder (DID), Asperger syndrome (AS), Insomnia & suicidal tendencies. He started his treatment in December 2019 and had gone through multiple sessions with Psychiatrists. To deviate his mind, he started writing HACKER 404 Happiness not found which he later published.
Philanthropy[edit]
Bhanu decided to donate all the royalty proceeds from his novel Hacker 404 Happiness not found to Childline India Foundation & Akshaya Patra Foundation in equal amount.[16][14]

- Bhanu was honoured by the MD & CEO of Syndicate Bank, Mr. Mrutyunjay Mahapatra for his work on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning.
- He was also honoured by the Chief Information Officer of Syndicate Bank for Managing Hackathon SYND iNNOVATE 2019.
