Bhargavastra (weapon)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bhargavastra (Script error: The function "langx" does not exist.) is one of the most powerful weapons in Hindu epics. It is the weapon of the Hindu deity Parashurama. In Mahabharata, only Karna possessed this weapon.[1]

Uses

Karna and Arjuna invoking astras.

In Mahabharata, Karna used the weapon on the 17th day of the Kurukshetra War. After being invoked, the weapon generated large numbers of specialized weapons and arrows, which devastated the Pandava army, killing several thousand warriors.[2]

Arjuna retreated from the battle after seeing the prowess of the weapon.[3]

This astra also countered Indra's Vajra weapon invoked by Arjuna and caused even more devastation on the Pandavas side.[4]
