Pournamikavu Temple[edit]

Pournamikavu Temple, a Hindu temple devoted to the main deity, goddess bhadra kali. It is situated at Trivandrum district, Kerala (South India). This temple opens only on Pournami Days (Full Moon Days), i.e., only 12 days in a year. The main Deity is Bala Tripurasundari Devi who exists in five different forms of Kaali, namely, Bala Bhadra, Veera Bhadra, Roudra Bhadra, Krodha Bhadra, Samhara Bhadra. The devotees worship Pournamikavu Bala Tripurasundara Devi mainly for curing diseases, and to solve their various issues.

Legend[edit]

The main deity worshipped in the Temple is Sri Baala Tripurasundari Devi .As per the legends say, she was the Padakaaliyamman (the war-goddess) who was being worshipped during the reign of the Ay dynasty (based in Vizhinjam port, Thiruvananthapuram) from the early historic period up to the medieval period.
