Sake Srihari Murthy, better known as Bhumiputra Srihari Murthy is a journalist and writer.[1] He is currently the editor and publisher of daily magazine Bhumiputra and Rayalaseema Monthly magazine Jagruti. These magazines are publishing in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

Early life and education[edit]

He was born on January 16, 1985 to Sake Gangamma and Kullayappa. His hometown is Bondalawada village in Narpala mandal of Anantapur district. His primary education was with his father. He wrote the Gurukul entrance examination and was selected for the Kodigenahalli Gurukul School and later studied at the Norpala Government High School. He later completed his Intermediate Education at the Brahmangari Math School of Social Welfare Gurus. He later completed his degree in Maidukuru. He subsequently completed his MA in Journalism from Acharya Nagarjuna University and also completed his Law Degree from Sri Krishna Devaraya University, Anantapur. Sriharimurthy, who also completed his MA in Hindi from the South Indian Hindi Prachar Sabha, also studied Hindi Pandit education. He completed his MA in Telugu from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjunanagar, Guntur.

Student leader[edit]

Sriharimurthy, who has been socially conscious since his student days, has been involved in various leftist student movements. The presidency, which began as a zonal leader in the left-wing student movements on inequalities in society, continued its journey as a state-level leader.

Journalism[edit]

It was felt to bring awareness among the people to eradicate social evils while immersing themselves in social movements. As part of this, he founded Bhuvanavijayam magazine in 2011 as its editor. It ran for a few years.

He was the editor and publisher of Rayalaseema Jagruti, a monthly magazine started in 2016 with the intention of highlighting the cultural aspects of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh and the importance of Rayalaseema. With investigative articles, Rayalaseema's glory was presented with fine pictures. Gradually researchers wrote articles for this magazine. Hence it also got ISSN number: 2581-3153. The magazine publishes literary and cultural articles from all parts of the state, with a focus on Rayalaseema.

As an editor and publisher, he started the "Bhumiputra" daily in 2018 and strives to stand out nationally in emerging journals by providing cutting-edge technology in the contemporary press world. While the distribution of magazines was a major issue during the corona period, the growing popularity of digital editions and the emergence of local magazines as a major channel for social media. As part of this, the Bhumiputra daily will also receive many accolades in the long run. Currently all the pages are published in color and also a daily supplement especially for Anantapur district. It focuses on daily world, national and state news as well as local news.

Awards[edit]

For the year 2021, the Jyotsna Kalapeetham in Hyderabad has awarded the prestigious D.S.T. Gnananandakavi received the Memorial Award.[2]
