BigDecisions.com is a financial education website, which aims to help Indian consumers make financial decisions through decision-making tools powered by algorithms and data.[1]

History[edit]

Started in early 2013 by Manish Shah (an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and a former financial services professional from Citigroup) and Gaurav Roy (an IIT-Bombay and XLRI Jamshedpur alumnus and a former consultant with Arthur Andersen and KPMG) it was operating until recently as bigdecisions.in and the founders ran it with Rs 25-30 lakh for a year.[2]

Funding[edit]

The company was acquired by News Corp—a global diversified media, news, education and information services conglomerate—in 2014. Following the acquisition, both co-founders will report to Raju Narisetti, News Corp Senior Vice President, Strategy. The acquisition of BigDecisions.com includes the site’s parent company, FinDirect Services Pvt Ltd.[1]

Product and services[edit]

BigDecisions.com is an advisory website with tools that help users make financial decisions in the areas of retirement planning, children's education planning, real estate, life and health insurance. The platform is a free resource and doesn't mandate him / her to register to be able to use its service.[2]

The company has tie-ups with Policybazaar, Future Generali and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.[3][4]
