Birlasoft is an Information Technology firm providing services in the fields of Manufacturing, Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Media & Healthcare industry. It is a part of the 150-year-old, multibillion-dollar CK Birla Group. Birlasoft has a strength of around 4000 personnel.
History[edit]
In 1995, the CK Birla Group set up Birla Horizons International in order to explore the new field of information technology. The venture floundered without focus for a couple of years until 1998, when a Fortune 10 company joined the company as a strategic investor. The company was then renamed Birlasoft Inc and began focusing on providing services to clients in the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance and Manufacturing industries.
Birlasoft's portfolio of services now includes Enterprise Application Services, Custom Application Services and Specialized services like Testing, Analytics and Logistics.
CK Birla Group[edit]
The CK Birla Group was established in 1861 by B.M. Birla, son of the late G.P. Birla. The group operates in diverse industries including Technology and Automotive, Home and Building, Healthcare and Education.
Acquisition[edit]
In January 2014, Birlasoft acquired EnablePath,[3][4] a fast-growing CRM solutions provider and Salesforce.com Platinum Cloud Alliance Partner based in Atlanta, United States.
