Bitrix, Inc is a privately-owned software company.[1] It was founded in 1998 and is mostly known as the developer of Bitrix24, an online collaboration platform.[2]
History[edit]
Bitrix, Inc. was founded in 1998 by Sergey Rizhikov, CEO; Dmitry Valyanov, President; Alexey Sidorenko, VP; Vadim Dumbravanu, VP Technology; and Yury Tushinsky, CTO. [3] Their first commercial product was a CMS of the same name (Bitrix) released in 2003, and by 2007 the company had established a network of over 1,000 partners.
As the industry started shifting from old school proprietary to cloud-based SaaS, the company developed a new product called Bitrix24 - an online collaboration platform with CRM. [4] The product had attracted over 5,000 users in its public beta stage [5] and was officially launched in April 2012.
As put by Bitrix, Inc. President Dmitriy Valyanov, "[The company wanted to] combine dozens of distinct functions – like individual and group calendars, CRM, reporting, instant messaging and project management – and built a comprehensive toolkit in a single work zone employees can access from anywhere." [6]
In 2019, Bitrix made headlines with the then-upcoming update that featured stress measurement capabilities developed in collaboration with Welltory. [7]
As of December 2020, Bitrix, Inc. has 2 major regional sales offices located in Moscow, Russia and Kyiv, Ukraine. [8] The company incorporates 400+ staff, 60,000+ customers and 7,000+ partners worldwide. [9]
Software[edit]
The main product developed by Bitrix, Inc. is Bitrix24 - an online collaboration suite that features tools for communication, project management, and sales. [10] Its main solutions include social network, tasks and projects, CRM, document management, file sharing, calendar and planning, sales team management, email, telephone, video calls, and HR management. [11] In addition to Bitrix24, the company also markets 1C-Bitrix: CMS, a content management system developed as a joint venture with the Russian IT giant 1C.
