Bob (YouTube)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Bob, also known as This is Bob, is a copypasta Internet meme that became popular in 2009 and 2013 on YouTube. The meme refers to a stick figure ASCII character that was created and became popular in 2009 as spam.[1] The meme came into prominent use again in 2013 as a backlash against changes to the YouTube Comments Protocol. The change required users to have an active Google+ account in order to post comments on YouTube.[2][3][4][5][6] As of June 9, 2014, a Google+ account is no longer required to make comments.[7]
