Bob Dingethal is an environmentalist and political candidate.

Personal life and education[edit]

Dingethal earned a bachelor's degree in communications from San Jose State University in 1984, and an MPA from Washington State University in 2008.[1]

Career[edit]

Dingethal is the former southwest Washington director for Senator Maria Cantwell.[2] Dingethal is currently the executive director of the Gifford Pinchot Task Force, which supports sustainable forest management in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.[3] Dingethal has opposed efforts to mine on Mt. St. Helens.[4] Under Dingethal, the Gifford-Pinchot Task Force has worked to expose children to the outdoors.[5] Dingethal has also served as a telecommunications executive.[6]

Dingethal has been involved with the Vancouver Police Activities League, the Chkalov Society, the Vancouver-Clark County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, and the Clark County Historical Society and Museum.[7]

Political candidacy[edit]

Dingethal is running for Congress in Washington's 3rd congressional district. The seat is currently held by Republican Jaime Herrera Beutler.[7]
